From its first few seconds, Dylan Cartlidge’s latest single, ‘Anything Could Happen’ lifts your mood. It opens with the bounce of backing vocals and huge drums, before introducing Cartlidge’s inimitable alt-hip-hop flow. The chorus is a horn-led explosion into a sea of unavoidable smiles. “I was feeling fed up at not seeing my loved ones and struggling with my mental health,” he explains. “I focussed on my mantra of ‘Hope Above Adversity’ and I created the track to remind myself that with a bit of hope and courage, and if you put one foot in front of the other, anything really could happen!”.
